About This Project

The sober and balanced architecture of the intervention does not bind openly to the local Dalmatian tradition but uses it as a repertoire of feelings, memories, lights, colors. A typically Mediterranean building revised in a contemporary key. A functional building, easy and comfortable to live, where the outdoor spaces, which are considered essential parts, are integrated way with the internal ones so as to make the most of the mild Mediterranean climate.

The house, designed primarily as a resting area and a summer holiday near the sea, spreads over one floor of approximately 100 m2 net plus large covered balconies, a swimming pool and a small garden. During the concept development some important design, technical and formal criteria, inspired by the building techniques of the “passive house” in the Mediterranean area,  were followed thus reducing energy consumption while maintaining a high level of living comfort. In particular, careful studies on radiation control and natural ventilation, insulation and casing thermal inertia were carried out.
